Default How does this ebay v6 accord motor look?

Hey guys, first want to say i have no idea about motors or engines, so be light with me, i'm only a man. I have a 1999 accord with 5 speed manual and 4 cylinder now and was searching ebay for an engine swap and i found this v6 accord engine. It's only 800 dollars for a 40,000 mile engine. Seems way to good to be true. Does the motor look fine? Would it work with my stock 5 speed manual? Thanks

edit- was searching ebay some more about found like 5 more engines in the 400-600 dollar range with around 50-100 K miles on them. They all look complete. What's the catch on all these?

Well let's see

1) The engine bays are complete opposites of each other
2) The power gain of that swap is useless
3) It was only ever in automatic, and will not mate up with your 5spd

So unless you want to rerun AC lines, battery stuff, etc and have a autotragic in your 5spd car then you don't want that motor.

ahhh okay, thanks for the information. Been doin a little research and was wondering if the H22 engine from the mid 90s preludes and stuff would bolt right into my 5 speed? Would that swap be worth it?

The price is way too low, and I would be immediately suspect.
Of course it will fit, as long as the v6 came from a '98 or later (the '96-97 is a different animal). There will (however be such issues as Motor Mounts, cables, hoses, vacuum manifolds, wiring harnesses and PCM.
It will be cheaper and faster to just sell your car and buy the one you want.
I suspect the EBay 800.00 special will quickly turn into a boat anchor.

^^ But P you have to keep in mind, the V6 in that year never came in a manual tranny, just the auto.

So even though his car is 5spd it's not going to bolt up. The closest thing is the CL-S motor like what RedneckDave swapped in (but he went from V6 auto to V6 manual) not what he's asking.

(sighs) well i guess if i wanted cheap speed i would have gotten an lt1 or ls1 camaro. At least the accord is a much better car than those, and it does the job getting me to college and back. Guess i'll save my money for now. Thanks guys!

Honestly, considering the free shipping, the price is about right. The J30 V6 can be had for $400-$500 on a regular basis. There is very little demand for these engines outside of powering sand cars and replacing the .1% of those that fail before 300,000 miles. You almost have to try to hurt one of them internally, or just be totally careless about the maintenance.
