Default 90' CRX w/LSVTEC/cable LSD tranny and PROBLEMS

ok, it's my buddys car, It's got rattling and shaking problems comming from his Front rotors, normal driving it's fine, but as soon as u floor it, it shakes like crazy and u feel it all the way to the steering wheel. He had a single cam in there before and it was fine, no shaking or rattling from front rotors when full throttle, but right after the swap was when we encounter the problem. Im thinking it could be his LSD cable tranny cause it'll make a clicking noise when u make a turn with 10% or more throttle, if no throttle is use when making a turn then there's no noise and the axles are fine cause it came out from my car with no problems. I think he's got one of those LSD trannys that's got a welded differencial that could only go straight. You guys think that might have something to do with the rattling and shaking effect when u floor the car?? any thoughts on this??

Probably have a bad set of axles. Where did you get your axles from?

My thought exactly, welded dif's don't make you only go straight, a lot of "drifters" weld there difs.

axles, mounts, cracked suframe, loose bolts are the typical issues with violent shaking during acceleration as you described.

axles and mounts should be fine, have not checked subframe yet but had a D16 in there right before the swap and it does not shake/rattle like the LSvtec swap.

how do you know the axles and mounts should be fine?

clicking axles are not a sign of good axles.

but back to the differential. if the diff is welded, its not a Limited Slip differential. its a welded, locked diff. however, there are types of LSD's that do just make lots of noise.

you really gotta (double) check these things yourself, and not take it for granted. the point is that lots of things could be wrong in situations like this, especially when theres a swap involved.

another thing thats common is if it shakes under slight steering transitions under partial throttle, thats actually a bad shock issue. but stuff like this is hard to communicate over the internet.

axles are from a working Integra LS that i drove everyday without any axle problems, until my alternator died and so i lend him my axles, and mounts are New Hasport mounts.

you had them in a stock integra? are you even supposed to use stock axles in a hybrid swap into a EF? i honestly dont know, but i thought there was an axle length issue.

i would research that, im not a hybrid expert. i may not be right, but its possible...

btw, what i mean by bad mounts is misaligned or loose bolts on the mounts. just double check it.

90-93 teg axles work perfect IF you use a 90-93teg/s1/j1 intermediate shaft. If the trans you have is a factory lsd Y1(only cable trans i know of that comes with an lsd) then you need custom axles. The y1 int. shaft is longer and requires a shorter driver side axle. Or you can switch to the much more common teg int. shaft and use the axles you have.

axles and int. shaft came from a S1 1990 LS tranny, wouldn't that work??
I also herd u can use the Y1 int. shaft with 89 integra axles cause they are shorter than the 90-93....?? i dont know!

Yes that should work. Did you remove the seal retainer ring on the hub?

okay wanted to know if i can use the 86-89 integra axles with the 90-93 DA int. shaft? the 90-93 DA axles with the 90-93 DA int. shaft seems a little too long and the 86-89 integra axles are about 1 inch shorter which i think it might just work! lmk if u guys know this combination works. thanks

Hey, well I dont think you have that welded LSD because if you did you would not be able to make sharp turns at all it happens to me, I would have to do back and forward couple of times to make a u turn and to turn you I would have to do wideturns like trucks or 18wheelers. Let me ask you does your car fron wheel hop when you turn?

Ill post a video as soon as I can of me driving my car from and outside view just to show you what im talking about.

the 90 int shaft should be perfect with the 88-89 axles to make up for the distance of the hubs in the ef and da
