Default Trying to start my 90 Honda CRX SI help

I just bought a 90 Honda CRX Si (D16A6) from a guy that was going to send it to the junk yard.

The car has been sitting for 6 months. The old owner thought it might have been the fuel pump.

The engine does not have spark and the check engine light is on. But no codes through the ECU. I have switched out the dizzy and ECU. No spark yet.

Help me out H-T.

Was that motor swapped in (Im assuming no)? Or is it all STOCK. look if all the grounds are tight. when you turn the key you should hear the fuel pump prime, if you dont, check the relay under the dash. check sparkplugs, wires, cap/rotor and we need more info...

No engine not swaped. All stock.

I just replaced the grounds the dizzy, Main Relay, spark plugs and wires.

You can't hear the pump prime. the check engine light is on the whole time and no blinking light on the ECU.

Its probably something in the wiring is what I'm guessing.

If I don't get it running here in a little bit I'm just going to part the car out unless someone wants to buy the whole thing and fix it themselves.

Check fuse #14 under the dash.. Labeled alternator/solenoid
It provides power to the main relay..

But will that also effect spark?

I don't believe it does but that fuse being blown will
definantly keep it from running...

What method did you use to check for spark?

And also you might check to see if the cam is turning by
looking through the oil filler cap or at the
distributor rotor to see if it is turning..

To check spark I removed a plug and grounded it.

Also the cam turns.

I just went out to my other CRX and pulled that fuse to see what would happen.
It had the same symptoms. Didn't hear the Main relay, Check engine light was always on,
and ECU wasn't throwing any codes.

Well if thats the case it should be a very cheap fix.

How did you know it was linked to the Alternator fuse?

checked alternator, Solenoid valve, and fuel pump amperage. still nothing. Fuel pump draws 2.65 ADC, but when unpluged does not blow the fuse.

I'll have to check the Fuel injector amperage next and see where that takes me. Unless someone has any other ideas??

Because on a cold, dark, rainy night, that fuse blew on me
about a mile from my work so I pushed my car all the way back
to my shop.. When I found it was just a blown fuse naturally I was pissed..

Fuse #14 controls the following:
Voltage regulator
Emission control solenoid valves
PGM-FI main relay
PGM-FI ECU
Fuel Pump
ELD unit
EACV

What caused you're fuse to blow?

I *think* it was the alternator overcharging..

I replaced it and it never blew again..
