Hi. I have a 94 accord lx. I dont mod it or anything, im just trying to do some basic maintenance. What i need help with is my cigarette lighter. I dont smoke, but i use the socket for my radar detector...which is very very helpful considering the amount of driving i do.

what happened was this: i was unplugging my radar detector one day and the cigarette lighter just popped out with it. It works sometimes, but everytime i hit a bump, it resets itself. Any ideas on how to fix this?

 

are u sayin that the silver lining inside the socket popped out? if so i'm sure u popped it back in, anyway, it probably didn't lock back in so when u hit a bump it loses its connection with wiring in there, so i would suggest maybe pulling it back out and putting it back in til u get a really tight fit. if that doesn't work go to ur local dealership and go to the parts counter and ask them for a replacement. it should cost much maybe 15-20 bux i think. hope this was some help. btw, i've had the same problem with mine before and that is what i did.

 

i had the same thing happen on a car of mine. just take off the trim around it and solder the connection. thats what worked for me.

 

had same exact problem. because it disconnected the power line, my whole system shut off...no music for like 3 days till i had a day off...skanky
