Default Noise is Back from Tranny Area of Engine Bay

Well the noise is back........it seems to come and go.......anyways here is the deal......I would appreciate it if anyone could share some insight, this noise is so damn annoying

In any gear when I rev it up to say 4k RPM and take my foot off the gas and let the revs drop........usually between 2000-3000 RPMS I hear this low toned whining noise from the front right of the engine bay.......

If I put it in neutral during the noise........its goes away instantly.......

Anyone know what it could be? ....... Acura has tried to brush it off as no noise at all but its very audible and hasn't always been there

I have been getting some noise up at 5k in any gear, sounds like a howling of some sort, I was able to pull over and pop the hood to look and saw my stock exhuast is cherry red! just one tube next (left of) the dipstick. What I think you should do is take alook and tell me if you see the same thing.

also take a look: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=244363

I read your post.........I have no heat problems at all.....car runs constantly just below the half mark.......my noise just occurs as I'm slowing down.....

My car still runs amazing when you give it........when normally accelerating you don't hear the noise........its just when you are coasting to say a stop sign and let the rpms drop

i think you mean using the engine to slow down, not really "coasting" right? like the car is in gear and you don't have the clutch put in..

my car makes the same noise.. mine isn't very loud though.. can only hear it with everything off(stereo, fan, etc).. going to figure out what it is next week when i pull the tranny for the new clutch.. i'll let you know the results..

could it be your intake? thats what i would guess...... next to tranny, whirring noise when letting rpms drop...sounds like intake.

maybe you have dog ears and hear everything?

or maybe thats your BOV ?

Mine have the same noise.
My R is stock, and I hear that noise from day one.
I tend to think it is normal since I heard the same thing from another R.

sounds like my problem....which was a throw out bearing....which was carving itself a nice little circle in the pressure plate! yay!

well, one exception...the sound would remain even if i let it in gear, but was on the clutch.

I named this the "ice skater" syndrome, as thats what it sounds like

I think i have the same exact noise its like a grinding noise sounds like something is spinning fast when i drive faster spins faster, i can't figure out what that noise is, but if it is what you said do you think it can result into power loss?
