it's because he doesn't know how to drive and he probably butt raped his head gasket already. if not that tell your friend to check the antifreeze and check on the bottom of the radiator to see if there any leaks . if not check water pump to see if that leaks other then that it shouldnt be leaking .... new car "DO NOT HALL AZZ IT FOR THE FIRST 20K"

its under warranty right? just bring to the dealer, your question and circumstance are too vague for an answer here on the board. kthnxbye

He may want to learn more about his car.
coolant level?
oil level?
does radiator fan kick in?
does he watch his temperature gauge?
how does he drive it?
how does he maintain his car?
how was the car maintained before he got it, since it's an 06?
did he continue to drive it after it overheated?

A well maintained care shouldn't overheat if drivien and taken care of, anyway good luck.

Missing an oil change will not cause the car to run hot.

You can't cruise at redline either.

Cruising is about 5-10 MPH.

You should be able to drive the car at redline for an hour without overheating......Unless he is in the desert right now I would suggest it is something else.

bring it the dealership. it's under warranty. don't touch a thing. get it to a preferred dealer ASAP. if your friend wears his had sideways, tell him to straighten it before he goes into the service department.

end of story.

if it's got a turbo, or supercharger, let us know...

Excuse me, but what the hell are you talking about? I agree, you could not cruise at redline, but it is definitely not 5-10 mph. I'd say it's just a moderate, steady speed. Cruise control! Enough said. I'll bring out the dictionary if I have to.

Missing an oil change could cause a car to run hot. If the thing is 2+ years old and only has 11k miles on it, it has sat for some time, which isn't great for a car. Beating on it the only time you do drive it and missing an oil change could potentially burn oil, and cause more friction, thus causing heat.
