Alternator Belt
Well I just put i new belt on my 95 lx and it seems like it either squeels at startup or it whines, ive played with the adjustment and its getting very annoying. Does it ever take some time for a belt to seat or something ?
Provided that you've adjusted it correctly and the alternator or A/C compressor isnt freezing up, it's probably the belt itself.
Our shop only uses Bando or Mitsuboshi brand accessory belts, as they're the only belts that don't have issues with squealing and stretching. Gates and Continental belts are the next best options. Dayco Poly Cog and Goodyear Gatorback are particularly tough to keep from squealing.

did you adjust it with the scew on the top of the alt?. loosen the alt give the adjustment scew a few turns until there is about an 1" TOTAL (+- 1/2 inch either way) deflection in the belt and then tighten up the alt.

im talking it squeels right after i adjust it, i will start it up and it will squeel. And it will squeel even more under load. It does it more so at very low rpms or idle. And while driving it actually whines, which makes no sense to me. Shouldnt it whine = too tight and squeel = too loose ?
Make sure it is tight enough, some people do not make tight enough but this is one belt that you do not overtighten, you will put too much strain on the aft bushing in the alternator.
Make sure this is the actual belt that is squeeling, pour a little water on the pulley without getting too much water on the other belts and see if the squeeling goes away, make it tighter or get a better belt. Do not use belt dressing.
Also make sure that with the belt removed that the alternator pulley spins easily and that there is no restriction to the alternator armature.
