Hobart Handeler?
I am by no means a fabricator... but my brother, father and I found a Hobart Handler about 4yrs ago for $400 with cart, argon bottle, extra spools... tons of stuff. It was one of the best tools we have bought.
As stated it's not a super powerful welder but if you're always working on cars or other metal projects and need something affordable this welder would be perfect. Chances are you're not going to need to do anything super beefy (like thicker than 1/8"). I know that's our situation. But if you're building braces, exhausts, gussets, even a basic roll cage... Having a welder has opened up SO many possibilities for us! So far I have zero complaints about the welder. But I'm sure a pro would need something much better.
