transmission question
hi everyone.
I was thinking of putting an H22a engine into a 1998 accord, then i thought to my self what would be the best transmission to put into that car that should be able to withstand the shear awesome power of the H22a engine, that is after the engine has been rebuilt.

I'm sorry did someone say shear awesome power and H22 in the same sentance? lol it sheer not shear as in you are going to shear a sheep mang
F and H series transmissions can easily handle the 200HP that the H22 puts out.
H trans = suckier fuel economy, higher revs on hwy and more noise but faster accelleration along with the car not dropping out of V-tech (lawl) with every gear change....
F trans = better fuel economy, lower revs on hwy, less noise but slower accelleration and engine drops out of V-tech(lawl) at every gear change.
50 hp will give you a noticable change in accelleration even with a stock F transmission.
P.S. yes I know it's V-tec and not V-tech unless you want to put a phone techology in your engine

That "sheer power" comes at a price; A specific built transmission taylored to take advantage of where the H22 makes it's "awsome" power - high RPM's. Great for the occasional blast down the block, but hidious if you have to travel any furthur than the next town.
Put a transmission on it with a lower final drive ratio and you'll be to the point that the engine has a hard time reaching it's power band
