I just bought an EJ6 97, im trying to fix it.. i bought a headers but i wanna change my manifold i have a D16Y7 which one can work with my engine..???
do i have to change the head too??

What Do you guys think?

First, You own an EJ6, Not an EK9, God thats annoying.
Seconds, You bought a header.
On a Y7 motor the CAT is directly after the Exhaust manifold which limits your choices on a header upgrade. Does the header you bought even have a O2 Bung on it for your primary o2 sensor?

What you could do is Buy an EX CAT that is located under the car and extend your secondary o2 sensor wires and buy a header for the y8 motor, but that is just a PITA.

Honestly, Id leave it all alone, The gains with a header on a D series motor is going to be minuscule, If anything at all.

ABOUT THE HEADERS I BOUGHT THEM FROM A FRIEND, HE HAD A D16Y7 ENGINE, AND IT HAS THE O2 SENSOR ALMOST IN THE END BEFORE THE CAT...

BUT THE THINK IS DO I HAVE THE CHANGE THE HEAD?? FOR A BETTER PERFORMANCE ??WHAT A ABOUT THE MANIFOLD ???
