Icon6 PCV into PAIR...

So I'm planning on doing some mods to the VFR (98') this winter, and one of them happens to be the PAIR delete. While I was in there I was gonna hack my airbox and take a look at the PCV system to see if I could run a tube to the exhaust, a la Moroso crankcase vent kit. I did this on my brothers old Supra, and it worked swimmingly.

Anywho, I was just going over the schematics in my service manual and came up with what I think might be a fairly elegant/effective solution to both my problems.

I'm simply going to run the PCV vent to the PAIR inlets and eliminate the solenoid.
Voila. The crankcase will be under vacuum, I eliminate a few ounces of solenoid nonsense, and my engine isn't ingesting crankcase fumes. The PAIR inlets on the heads already have a backflow prevention valve n' everything....

Thoughts?

The crankcase vented to the PAIR is usually done on Suzuki's. When it comes to Honda's, its better to just block the PAIR system totally and keep the crankcase vented to the airbox or to a catch can. I wouldnt want any oil vapors going through the exhaust circuit. Racers will vent the crankcase to a catch can.

+1

Dan Kyle Racing sells PAIR block-off plates for somewhere around $10 and there a bunch of How-to's that are Honda specific. Here's the one I used on my 600RR http://www.peterverdonedesigns.com/600RRpairsmog.htm

And here I thought I was all original...
I went and checked out the Suzuki lead and they've been doing it a while, apparently.
The only downside reported was popping on decel, as opposed to eliminating it, which removal of PAIR takes care of.

I think I'll give it a whirl. It would take 5 mins and 5 bux to do anyway...

Thanks guys.
