Default CRV radio code

?

I'm getting a 00 crv that has OEM cd/tape deck but the owner does not have the code.

Instead of paying honda $80 for the code, has anyone tried this site yet ?

Nyob Zoo Charlie.

Hey, I saw a trick in Honda Tuning mag. I believe you hold the 1 and 6 button on the radio and the code will appear.

It's a B*TCH to take out the radio, I know, I got a 99' CR-V.
I forgot all about the code alarm crap, and disconnected my battery. Fortunatly for me, my BroNlaw is a Honda Mechanic.

I wish I saw this HT mag before I had him tear everything apart, LoL.
Good thing is, he got it working again.

GL to ya.

If you still can't figure it out, I'll try to find that magazine and find out for sure how you do it.

the 1-6 thing only works on new honda's. You need to remove the radio. Best buy charges $55 to do this. It's a little cheaper than the dealer, or do it yourself. I can get a gen 1 crv radio ount in 15 minutes.

I'll be taking it out this weekend.
BTW if I were to provide you with the radio id number, would you be able to have your brother inlaw also help get me the CODE?

Best Buy charges $55 to do what?
take out the radio and get the CODE?
or just take out the radio?
or just get me the CODE?

I think you can get the code for free from Honda as long as you can provide them with a serial number.
If they say they're gonna charge you, just let me know, and I'll see if I can get the code for you.

I heard him also say something about not having to take the radio out, and just using a extension mirror to see the code. I could be wrong though.

honda charges $80 to remove the radio, and run the serial number with the vin number from the car to get the radio code. The $80 is for them to take the radio out, just to rewad the code. You can have best buy do that for $55, or do it yourself. After you have the serial number and your vin number written down it's just a quick phone call to the parts department.
