Post Tranny ID number

I have a 1998 honda civic. what is the tranny id number on these type of cars? i doubt they are one of a kind. some guy is selling a tranny for a honda but he mentions to check the id number to make sure it fits. any help? ive tried google and cant come up with anything.

the ID number he is showing is: p2u5-1001087

any 92-00 civic trans will fit.
it should show a S40 number on top of this

any d series trany should fit any d series same with the b series

only differences will be gear ratios number of gears (watch out for those old 4 speeds) and if it has LSD...
