Default Obd2 motor to obd1?

Im going to pick up a GSR motor from my brother's friend and I was wondering since it is OBD2 how would I go about making it run in a 93 civic OBD1?? I already have a P28 ECU. Is there anything I need to change or replace? If there is already a thread in regards to this, can someone please send me the link?? I really dont have time as of now to search for threads... Thanks.

they make obd2 to obd1 wire harness conversion kits... just look around.

rywire.com
passwordjdm.com (i think)

and the p28 wont run that engine right, if its stock you will be hitting vtec @ 5k and reving to 7600... you need to either

a) have you p28 chipped for a GSR
or
b) buy a chipped ecu from

phearable.net or some other place that does that.

is that all i need? What comes with the wire harness kits? Do I need the original obd2 engine harness? I was sorta thinking that this is a swap that will probably take a few mods to some wires, but since the sensors (tb, im, and o2) are all obd2 i'll probably have to do some extensive wire work. I'll probably get the p28 chipped. The motor is from a 95-96 gsr... im 50/50 about wheter or not its an obd1 motor..

If you can get the GS-R engine harness it'll save you a ton of work. If the civic came from the factory with a vtec engine, and you are using the GS-R engine harness you wont have to wire anything so long as you use a chipped P28. If using the stock GS-R manifold move pin A20 to A17 at the ECU plugs and plug the Purge solenoid connector into the IAB solenoid for functioning IABs.

What if my civic wasnt equipped with vtec from the factory? Its a dx hatch. I just learned about the pins from a friend. Thanks for supplying that info for reassurance.

Then you will need to run the vtec wiring from the ECU to the shock tower plugs. Normally what I do is go to the junkyard and remove these 2 wires from any '92 civic as they all had vtec prewired from the ECU to the shock tower only.

I have seen my friend's hatch and he ran the wires directly to the vtec solenoid. Is this possible? By running the wire from the ECU to the shock tower plugs, will I have to somehoe make the vtec wiring a part of the existing harness?

Yes

Ideally yes, but you can just run 2 wires out through the firewall and run them straight to the vtec solenoid and pressure switch.
