Icon3 Neukin/Alex=Possible Crook

I saw another thread of a similar nature posted up on here last week about Neukin/Turbogoods and them not delivering on a manifold that was purchased back in Apr. I paid $1200 for a h22/eg topmount setup on 9 Sept 08 when I got back from Iraq it was originally supposed to take 20 business days to complete which was fine with me. So sometime passed and I realized that it was close to the promised date so I sent a email asking how it was coming along and Alex responded with this

20 Oct 08
Could ship sometime next week. Working on two setups right now that will be done by wednesday, might have your setup all done by friday but we will shoot for mon/tues shipping next week 27th.

Had to let my other welder go because of low sales the past 3 months so im doing everything here again just like 3 years ago... dont know how i did it all before. Sorry about the delay.

Thanks -Alex

no biggie **** comes up is how I am looking at it so I let another week pass and shoot him another email on 30 Oct 08 asking how is coming along I get this

Im doing everything so its setting me back some from original estimates. Im topping off these two manifolds and intercooler and ill try and get yours done sunday. Thanks for holding in there i didnt mean to keep you waiting so long... hope i didnt make you miss a dyno date or any scheduled event.

Thanks
Alex Neumann

again I chalk it up as **** happens but its getting worked on well as the story develops its pretty much the same stuff over and over again a bunch of promised dates and nothing ever delivered.

Ryan i can promise it will be done on Saturday 15th, i can also send you a Neukin Radiator with fan for free. I hate when things get like this, it happens here and there with a few orders. Taking in too much work too close to eachother and not paying attention to the amount of days a given order takes. Let me know if that works for you. The time we both invested into the manifold would be wasted otherwise.

Thanks
Alex Neumann

and the final response I have gotten from Neukin once I explained I needed my money back etc.

I have this topmount almost done, i understood the situation but i can only do so much here given the situation, i had everything all planned to get it done over the weekend and that failed. Its my fault for taking the business if this is how it ends. Its a total loss if we dont sell this to you at this point. Its not going to sell for 2 months prob and if we sell sooner for well under 1200. We had to spend 4 days getting this 240sx out of here so we had new money to put into our account. Im unable to refund right now. We have never been unable to refund someone within time but as you know things are getting rough. Please just hold in there another week if you can for any reason... sell the ramhorn once you get your Neukin manifold...? I have 5 more projects just like yours which i can only get about one done a week since its custom and takes so much time. Had to get rid of one of the welders (decreased new orders was leaving us with a lack of money) Anyways just thought i let you now what was up and im not just pushing you around or dont care about your order but things have just got complex around here and its starting to feel like a downward spiral since you guys understandably get frustrated at the run around it looks im giving you.

Thanks
Alex Neumann

I have sent him a few more emails but no response but he conviently responded to a email I had a buddy send him about buying a mani. So yes people beware I am out $1200 paypal wont do anything cause its months past the purchase date, have no manifold, and needed this car moving yesterday cause I am getting ready to pcs to Colorado.

i seriously doubt he is going to rip you off.. he seems to be keeping in contact and the only thing wrong is his business practices, ive only heard good about him so just give him a little more time, you do realize some people wait months upon months for a nice n/a header

you seem to have been understanding untill now, i would just wait a little longer and see how it goes

Damn I hope Alex doesnt turn into that guy, if anybody does happen to reach him I think they should suggest to him to come in here and explain whats going on, as this is now the 2nd thread in a short amount of time. The economy is fluxor'd and apparently he is struggling like alot of other people.

You are correct I have been understanding, but when you wont answer a paying customers email but you do for someone else asking for a mani kinda hard not to think something shady is going on. I could be all wrong again I am only going by what Alex has said and promised.

You are aware that this global money crysis isn't just made up, right? Small businesses are cutting it really tight. You also can't just rehire someone after firing them and expect everything to be 100% fine.

Put yourself in his shoes. Welding manifolds isn't like texting a friend, it takes time and brain cells. Also some 'fab shops' do this as standard practice when times are good. Try not to get pissy, but just let him know there will be an ultimatum set (resonable one), and then you'll start the legal process. Don't be a dick, just be firm.

Are you serious? and somehow I am supposed to absorb a 1200 dollar loss and move and sing praise about this guy come on now.

I am not gonna put myself in his shoes I paid for a project in full and thats what I expect just like you would.

^^ Agreed. Small shop or not, a paying customer is a paying customer. With the economy the way it is I have no idea why he would not respond to your e-mails in-turn letting the Neukin name take a hit. Also what was the response to your friends e-mail about a new manifold?

Doesn't matter, business is business. You state a date and then keep delaying it, delaying it, bla bla bla, his problems shouldn't be yours, point blank.

x2

I had a boost creep issue, and he came right out and offered to swap my old manifold for one of thier new ones with revised WG placement for free, or trade it in for full value on a top mount after 2 years! , thats a stand up guy for a small business owner if you ask me.

Alex has helped me out in the past a few times and business does get tough but there is NO excuse for ignoring people and not returning e-mails and phone calls. NO excuse at all!!! Anybody who defends that kind of business practice just because someone "is a stand up guy" is just plain stupid.

And mods don't delete this thread like you have with the last 2 Neukin threads. It's obvious he is still accepting orders from people but not returning product. Threads like this need to kept open to inform people about possible problems and so people can search for someones reputation in the future.

You know I am sure Alex is a good guy etc thats one of the reasons I choose to go with Neukin thinking I wasnt going to have any worries about getting the shaft. I have been understanding and dont mind the waiting part **** I am in the Army so waiting is the norm for me but I am also not a mind reader and go by what someone tells me. The most disturbing thing to me is not returning emails and bullshit delivery dates to people who's money you eagerly took and then accepting more orders when you currently owe more then a few people their mani's.

I sent out my final email to him today before starting the whole route of legal action hopefully he responds and we can mutually figure this out.

ive known alex for about 2-3 years now from him making my mani. the mani i bought was his first topmount that he completly made and sold. i did a whole write up on his mani took pics of it and the install... recorded the tune and put it all up on honda-tech to help push his mani's. my goal recently is to make 850 whp so i called alex and told him of my goal and he agreed that we could swap manis for one to suit my new goals free of charge.he has had my mani for a while now but i havent needed it nor have i given him all the specs of everything i will need to even produce the new one. do i think alex is a stand up guy? yes definatly. do small businesses get behind.... of course. i am also active duty and he has alot of respect for that so i dont personally think he will screw anyone over.

on another note of small business i supply engince computers for the cars that we all drive, my customers place big orders with me and i always come through. sometimes it might take me a hell of alot longer than it should but i never give dates either. my customers can always get ahold of me but i call them all the time. i know all my customers on a personal level and most the times we talk its not even about business cause they know they dont have anything to worry about and that they will always get what they paid for...
im not trying to get off topic but my point is i got to know alex on a personal level and he has never given me that feeling that he would try to screw someone over... i think he has a conscious and couldnt feel right about doing that kind of thing... i personally think times are hard, and sometimes we get in over our head.... Alex will come through.

i have emailed him recently and he replied the next morning, he does one day owe me a manifold and if he was trying to pull some kind of scam he wouldnt have replied to me.

i hope he comes through with this and everyone gets there product.

regardless how good this guy is suppose to be its now dec. the guy shoud have been done with manifold weeks a go. im my eyes he should either get you you manifold and give you someing back for it . i waited 2 months for my custom manifold from rc autoworks it was worth it and they also discounted a dp for my set up too i had to wait a lil longer than that what was scheduled. in this day and time actions speek louder than words.

i bought a mani, dp and rad from alex over the summer. but a month ago i ordered $100 worth of oil lines from him and they still haven't shipped them. i received a confirmation e-mail, but nothing about shipping them. I've tryed to contact alex four times now with no response. **** sucks, two oil lines are the only thing keeping my car on jack stands.

I have done biz w/ Alex in the past and I would be shocked if he doesn't come through for you here shortly.. I understand your anxiety about this.. I'm sure you will have your refund back anytime now..
