Default 96 accord window trouble

on my wifes 96 lx accord sedan the window rolls down fine without trouble or anything, when you try to roll it up it either hangs up and you have to get out of the car and physically pull it up or it rolls up fine it just tilts forward and when all the way up there is a 2" gap between the rear seal and the window itself, and it pokes out a bit. i assume there is some sort of bracketry or something broken but any idea what? gotta locate a window switch as well as she burnt it up yesterday trying to roll it up.

From the description I'd take a wild guess that the regulator is going 'south' in a hand basket.
Check the fuse before replacing the switch.
When you replace the regulator and have the door panel off, silicone lube the window run channels with extreme prejudice !!

The window at some point tilred in it's channel run and jumped out from where it's supposed to travel. You MAY get away with having someone delve into the door's workings and realign everything, but more likely a channel (window guide) or two has bent and requires replacement.

Well you could spray the linings/ guide rails with Silicone Spray, Thats what I did in mine.

I remove the door panel and spray all the railing and rubber thingy inside and now it works great. Now if that did not work then you might have a broken actuator.

Here's a link to the appropriate Honda parts Page:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...NT+DOOR+WINDOW

Here's an illustration of what you'll find:

In effect, the glass slides up/down inside the Window Run (8/14) propelled by the regulator (3/10). The upper portion of the Window Run inserts into the door's window frame, and the lower portion inserts into the lower channel guides (6/12 & 7/13).
What happens is the glass starts binding from crud buildup in the window run, causing it to tilt in it's track as it goes up/down. Eventually, it tilts so badly that it literally bends one (or both) of the lower channel guides and the window pops out. That's why there is now a gap when the window is as close to closed as you can get it.

I would suggest replacing the three parts I've listed (run and both lower guides).
If it still goes up/down, the regulator should still be servicable and not require replacement.
