What muffler are you guys running?
Dont see a topic about this and now i am in need of a efficient but quite exhaust system(harassment). Want to know what you street fighters are running w/o being too loud but w/ the best efficient power for a 300+hp car. Thanks a lot for the help.
3" downpipe to a 3" summit racing glasspack ( you can look straight thru the thing :D ). Turn down right after the shifter. Not too loud cruising around town but loud as freak if ya flat foot it. Look into thermal, i love the way they sound
3INCH downpipe
3INCH FLEX
3INCH test pipe (fake catalizer)
3INCH mendrel bend line
3INCH Dynomax Turbo (got a U inside baffle muffler reduce sound)
no tips on the muffler and i have painted the muffler black like to help the hide of the eyes of cops to montreal

SWEEEET....THAT LOOKS AWESOME, WHERE I CAN FIND PRICING OR IS THERE A WEBSITE YOU GUYS PREFER FOR ME AND OTHER WHO ARE INTERESTED, THAT WOULD LIKE MORE INFO..I SEE EVERYONE LIKES THE 3in ALL THE WAY THROUGH. ANY OTHER AWESOME AXLE BACKS?????? LMK, THANKS
im using the manganflow 3" straight through with a 3" dp and 3" kteller exhaust piping. at idle and light throttle its very quiet for what it is. 425hp with it no problems
However you cannot get the 14" body muffler and have to get the 16" one...why right? Because the 14" has 2.5" internal tubes instead of 3" so your bottle necking your exhaust if you have the 14" body. The smallest you can use is the 16" body to get the full 3" tubes.
Bailhatch is talking about the 14" body muffler.
Below is a pic of the muffler on my hatch, this is right after the muffler shop. I had to take the rear bumper off because I wanted the muffler to be tucked up in there. The clearances are very tight as you can see. This muffler is very quiet and loving it.
Don't jump to conclusion so fast. I had to go out and take snap shot of the finished product.
The other indentation on the bumper was where the old muffler was. Stupid muffler shop made the muffler touch the bumper and burned the indentation. Look stock with a bit of black paint doesn't it??

Sorry, I still don't like the looks. I'm sure it works good, but for how much it probabally cost, i'd rather go with a round muffler. Does your piping go over top of the rear sway bar, etc? That's another thing that I personally hate due to all the bends. I ran mine from the downpipe straight back and then kicked it out at a 45. Only two bends in my whole exhaust and one is only a 45 bend.
The muffler cost me $85 shipped so that is cheap IMO.
As for the bends, I probably have less bends then you do because of the placement of this muffler. Right in front of the RLCA the bend goes up and then back to the muffler. basically i have 2 soft bends probally 135 degrees, one up and one back to the muffler.

i run a magnaflow 3in with a 3in from the DP back. reasonably quiet at idle and WOT is ok since when i am at WOT i enjoy the sound of the car.
You can always add a resonator or a cat if the car is too loud.

In total, i have 135 degrees in bends. The 90 degree downpipe, then the simple 45 at the rear to kick it out the back on an angle. Looks and works great and less restrictive.
You would have to have atleast 3 - 90 degree bends just to get the piping to muffler is. One 90 on the downpipe, one 90 to bring the piping over to the passenger side of the car and finally another 90 to get the piping to go to rear of the car.

Sooo far the dynomax been the best..looks like it has better flow and also sounds nice to me, than the magnaflow...but dang sooo close to the tires there!! Thanks for the picture..as long as its tucked in there looks good to me and also as long as it flows better to get you some power w/ a complete exhaust system.. Been on summit and looked up the dynomax, shoot they look kind of different. Dont want to order them if they look different in the picture..but ill give them a call, to make sure. Thanks guys, i got a week to make up my mind....
Remember you have to make sure you get the 3" offset in/out and the 16" body. Part number is 17792 FYI.
I cut the tip on the muffler a bit to flow with the bumper. Got the idea from the Acura TL, the exhaust tips are at an angle.
Oh yeah the reason why it's so close is because those wheels are 19" with a +45mm offset and 215 tires. I'm sure with 15" it won't be so close.
I recommend you take your rear bumper off when you bring it to the muffler shop if you do decide on this muffler.

BONE-stock OEM muffler, 3" dp & b-pipe, e-cutout. I was loving it till I stopped driving it [blizzards!]. Its as quiet as any stock Civic can be, as far as Jonny Law is concerned...

Oddly enough, I don't get physically drowsey after driving it long distances. The past 'droning' always put me to sleep.
