Icon2 Rotors

I was changing my brakes and rotors and i was using an impact driver to take off the 2 screws holding on the rotors but bit broke off in one of the screws and i couldn't pick it out to put in a new bit so i just decided to drill it out since those screws are pointless anyways.. but none of my drill bits would cut threw that broken bit.. it would cut through the head of the screw but it won't even scratch that broken bit.. anybody have any ideas of how to take that out?

Torch it...BTW those screws aren't really necessary in holding on the rotor, as the lug nuts actually do that. Good luck!

actually, they "hold" the rotor, but are not necessary. you should be good with out the screws.

I meant they don't actually hold the rotor meaning that without them the rotor won't fall off or anything...

Yeah you are more than likely going to have to melt it out. You could try shattering it out with a punch and a hammer. It works every once and a while.

A torch may thermally shock it to release the broken bit. Otherwise, use a chisel to sever the head off of the screw. If you have a cutting torch, you can heat the screw head and burn it off.

When I broke off the impact driver tip in a rotor screw, I took out the Rotozip and cut a nice large flathead slot. It was enough to break it loose.
Otherwise, get a better drill bit or drill and go to work. If you don't want the rotor, get out the grinder
