String of theft/attempts in Long Beach/OC Area
I've been noticing a handful of threads in the past two weeks of people having their cars stolen or attempted. Just notifying those in the area to keep a sharp eye because it seems they're more active.

The incident began about 7:10 p.m. when officers spotted a 1998 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen at Durfee Avenue and Exline Street, the lieutenant said.
As officers tried to pull the car over, the driver accelerated onto the Durfee Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound 10 Freeway, where he collided with two civilian cars, Roach said.
One of the other drivers was hospitalized with minor injuries, he said.
The suspect then fled on foot and jumped over an embankment with a 30-foot drop on the other side, "which was apparently not known to the suspect," Roach said.
The suspect continued to resist arrest, and a Taser was used to take Lopez into custody, he said.
Lopez suffered multiple fractures to his leg, Roach said.
