Default GSR header+cat fits type R?

hi there
i am 00-1051
located in Vancouver Canada
just let you know we have air care program here and i am currently running on j's racing header+T1R test pipe+T1R catback
the current exhaust definately not going to pass aircare lol

i tried but it is quite hard to find a set of OEM header and cat here

so i am wondering if the GSR header and cat would fit?

i also heard that this j;s racing header is JDM length which is slightly longer than original headers so i could not fit a cat in?

what other options do i have?

thanks guy i will post pics later!

The gsr header and cat will bolt on to the head and will fit but you will probably have to do some modification after the cat. If the J's is longer then you might have to add a peice of pipe with the correct flanges to connect to your TR1 catback.

wat if i use the whole exhaust setup from the GSR (header, cat and the OEM catback)
will they the typeR?
and the length of the j's racing header+test pipe=the length of OEM header+cat?

94-99 GSR has a shorter downpipe, the exhaust manifold will bolt onto the block but somewhere along the lines the downpipe and cat will be too short. 94-95 GSR were OBD1 which is missing the secondary O2 sensor bung that you desperately need on the cat.

I'd recommend getting a 94-01 GS LS RS ITR (00-01 GSR) exhaust manifold + downpipe (header) and for the cat 96-01 GS LS RS ITR (00-01 GSR), make sure the cat has a secondary o2 sensor bung in it.

If you have the whole setup that you mentioned above..that will work. The Ls header bolts up to a stock ITR exhaust; atleast from what I have seen.

don't know if this message is late. I live in Vancouver so I have the exact same issue with my ITR. Whenever I have to pass aircare I simly swap out the test pipe for a cat. Any muffler shop can swap the straight pipe with a custom length cat. I have had good experience with Muffler Man in New West. They are very reasonably priced and can do any custom length adjustments within minutes. The cheapest way is to buy an Integra cat or use the oem one and just get the muffler shop to weld whatever extension is needed. The cat extension should be around $20-50. That's it.

my car is an LS/Vtec on an ITR, and just recently i put on stock ITR OEM full exhaust and it fits, not sure what that means in your case tho.
