for a friend, he has a 99 SI. He replaced the gauges and now the lights go on and off once in a while. it could be off, then just come on while driving. he checked the connections and they are really tight. anyone have any ideas or a link to an old thread with a similar problem? nothing on search.

 

Do other electrical lights/parts short aswell?

 

nope just the lights, sometimes it comes on, sometimes not. sometimes it just goes off while driving and vice versa.

 

little of topic, but i just have a quikc question...i have a problem kinda like this one and i want to take out my gauges, but i just need to know exactly which screws to take out... thanks!

make sure he chose a good ground point for the gauges...

what power source did he tap for the lights?

 

**** i got the same problem...i thought it was just my car...maybe its Honda...im afraid one day im just gonna stall in the middle of a freeway and cause a big accident

 

he checked the ground and its good, he tapped (not butted) the dimmer switch...
