well i got a set of hids for my 99 civic....
and i well i put them in and in about 3 days the passenger side was flashing and eventually went out. so i bought a set off my friend who had xenon eyes. and i turned on my car this evening and the passenger side ballast was out again.

now i plugged the blub in on the other side and it lit right up...
what could be going on here???
i really dont want to have to keep buying ballasts.

 

Quit buying cheap, poorly-made HID ballasts/kits and you won't have that problem.

 

whats the qcauensedence(spelling) that it happens on the same side twice in a span of 2 weeks...?

Is it possible that you do not have a good ground on that side ? It could be the type of ballast kits you are using. It is entirely possible that you have gotten 2 back to back Bad ballast. I would really look close at the grounding and existing wiring first. I had HID on a car once that went through 2 ballast in a few days, I thought it was because I was buying cheaper ballast off ebay, So I stepped up and purchased a high end. It went out 2 days later. Turnned out that I had insulation missing between 2 wires and when it would touch it would blow. Just lucky I seen it.
