Default 2003 Accord V6 Coupe - Performance Mods (headers?)

Hello everyone, just joined the forums last night. I recently purchased a 2003 accord v6 auto coupe. I have searched all over for v6 headers and I am convinced they do not exist. If they do, could you direct me in the right direction. If not, I would be willing to let someone in the DFW area borrow my car to make custom ones for production. Anyways, what other performance mods exist. What's a decent dual exhaust setup, camshafts, intake, etc...

I heard underdrive pulleys are not good in climates with high temperatures such as texas. Let me know what you think.

The reason you can't find headers for your Accord v6 is that they can not exist. The initial portion of the exhaust manifold is physically welded to the cylinder head, and can't be removed. You can, however, replace all three of the catalytic converters, and the downpipe(whatever you choose to call it, the pipe between the manifold and midpipe). The first two catalytic converters, right off the exhaust manifolds, are the ones that actually utilize an O2 sensor, so replacing them might not be smart on a daily driven car. The third one, at the normal spot under the middle of the car, has no sensors and is pretty much only there to let Honda stamp "ULEV" on the car. I replaced that in my Accord along with the downpipe/J-pipe and I absolutely love the increase in torque at all RPMs, and it only cost me $350 for both.

For the exhaust, I would recommend the Magnaflow catback, as you can find them for $500 shipped, and they sound wonderful. The Greddy exhausts looks too ricey to me, and also costs about $900, but I've heard it produces the best power. The Borla also sounds decent, and is about the same price as the Magnaflow, maybe a little more. For the intake, the AEM v2 is the common choice, and I believe there in an Injen intake that is a little cheaper. You can get a UR underdrive pulley or pulley set, but as far as aftermarket cams and other engine upgrades, there isn't really anything yet, unless you want to make some sort of hybrid J series engine using larger displacement blocks from the 3.5 engines, and/or the cams and valvetrain from the current TL Type S.

Do you have a link to to these parts that you replaced, or could you point me in the right direction?

This is the downpipe/test pipe I purchased, and I thought it was the best bolt-on mod I've ever done to any car. $360 for both shipped. http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ad.php?t=99609

I can't remember where I found the Magnaflow for dirt cheap, but I searched for it on Yahoo and it was some kind of 4x4 website, to give you somewhat of a direction to look for it.

best bang for your buck mods. jpipe/precat deletes and a custom exhaust.

As was mentioned above, the V6's do not have "headers." The first part of the exhaust before the pre-cats is welded onto the cylinder head.

The modifications discussed above are the high flow J-pipe, catalytic converter deletes, and cat-back exhaust. A google search will more than suffice for finding these parts online.

The header is eliminated, because the head is made with it built in. There is only one exhaust hole in the head itself, where the downpipe/cat converter is bolted. Click on the link below, and look at #2 in the illustration.
