Default is this possible?

i have a 91 civic hatch, and i was wondering if it is possible to swap the stock d15 with a b16 without changing the tranny or anything like that?

if not can you suggest the most price friendly way to get more power out of the d15.

im new to hondas so please dont be rude.

well thanks for being courteous. would it be better to do a full swap and invest 1500 for a whole new front clip, or just get a new d15 and upgrade it?

i was just asking because i was trying to find the most cost efficient way to get more power out of my current set up.

i mean i would rather just upgrade my d15 rather than spend 1500 on a b16. but i was asking because i dont know what is better to do

bisi level 2 ground to your needs $229, .040 milled off the head $25 for me, thinner head gasket $80, 92 octance. $150 to $250 for a nice Si tranny. walk a b16 all day long. Wont blow em out of the water, that is for sure, but a lot more fun than stock and pretty damn cheap and easy.

it is a cam regrind. Dont get me wrong, you wont smoke a b16 with this setup, but it is a very nice increase over stock and is what I am putting together right now with my a6. I have driven an identical car to mine with this setup and it was a blast, only difference it had slightly higher comp pistons that stock.

i went from a d15 to a d16y7. I took the stock 1.5 sohc out of a 93 dx and put a 1.6 sohc vtec that I got from a 96 ex. I had to do the entire wire harness from the headlights to the taillights. I sucked but it was totaly worth it.

If you just want some extra pep out of your d15, swap to mpfi, get a D16A6 cam, and pm6 ecu. And if you do swap, please don't waste your money on a B16. There torque less and not much faster the a D16.

Your D series engine will be compatible with your D series transmission.

I did a mini-me last year. I can tell a good difference and it didn't cost that much. Just shop around. Gained 6/10ths in the 1/8 mile. But definitely has problems getting traction.

Here is where 2 places I am going to be doing my shopping

www.bisimoto.com level 2 cam and his cam gear

www.exospeed.com valve springs

many, many more. Depends what you are looking for. I like ebay because I am on a budget and it is good for used headers etc. Little things that saving a buck or two will add up to more parts i can buy.

either u buy a turbo for your d15 or you buy a stock b16.... either way u end up wasting about 1200 minimum. a turbo d15 would be faster i beleve,,,
