Default H22 5 Speed into 6th Gen F23

I want to convert my stock F23 AT to a 5spd MT. I know I can use an F series tranny or an H series. My question is, what more will I get out of an H22 5 speed rather than the F tranny? I know longer gears, but will any power come from it? Or is it a tougher job than it is worth?

f22 will be more for quiet highway speeds and lower accelleration
h22 = higher highway revs and more accelleration

h22 trans has shorter gears thus you accelerate faster but you also kill your gas milage as to where a f23 trans has longer gears and rpms about 3200 @ 80mph ... its one reason why f series last longer than h series ...

Well I called a shop around my area & they quoted me about $2800 for the 5 speed h22 swap. I didn't get a chance to ask if that included all of the accessories like the half shafts, mounts, and all the harness crap.

If the price does include all of that & labor, does that sound like a decent price? I'm trying to get an idea of what is a good price to have this professionally done.

No, All it does is raise the rpms of cruise.... Depending on Tranny chosen... (the m2f4 is the shortest)... 80 MPH should be right around 3800-4k... 43-4400 with the f4, and a bit lower with the H23s M2S4.

Depending.... SOmetimes milage CAN go up with shorter gears.. It really all depends. WHat DEFINATELY changes is RPMs at cruise.... MIlkage depends on tune vs where you are in the ecus MAP.
