Default (HELP) ITR cams in my GSR ??

I have a boosted gsr, JE pistons Eagle rods, Arp headstuds, and AEM cam gears (currently zeroed out). 9:1 compression ratio. Im tuned at 16psi making around 400whp and was wondering how much an effect i would have if i ran ITR cams instead of gsr. My head is currently stock. I figure puting ITR cams in it would help move more air which in result spooling my turbo quicker/faster but dont want to damage my valvetrain seeing that it is stock.

So my questions are

1. Would this be worth it?
2. How much effect of spooling my turbo and power gains will i have?
3. How hard/bad will this be on my stock valvtrain??

Please note that this car is my DD in the summer time.

THANKS!

1.......yes
2.......i would guess depends on how efficient your set up is 30-40hp gain
3.......not hard at all. you can use it on the stock valve train as long as your keep your revs in check. (ex. 8,2k-8,4k)

they say you wont need valvetrain upgrade but i would recommend it, not only will it make it safer, but you will get the benefit of being able to shift higher(usually with itr cams the power carries higher)

if hes not revving higher i see no need for them. but yes you would need them if you choose to rev higher.

i run the itr cams with stock valvesprings. i used to run stock retainers, but saw some issues of them breaking, so i upgraded to ti retainers, still stock dual springs. i rev to 8700.

you will find the cams to be a nice upgrade from the gsr's imo. im happy i made the switch

I have a very similar setup.
The Toda valve springs are worth every penny when you consider what damage a floated valve can cause. My redline set for ~8,4K on the track (road course).
But it never fails for me to get out of my head, try to get over agressive and ***** a shift up at least once a weekend. Running full-boost, the revs will peek faster then the ecu can cut fuel. So I'm sure I've gone way past 9,5K before. If it was not for the valve springs and a solid overall build and tune, then my engine would have been long gone by now.
Just think of the springs as insurance. You probably won't need them. But if you do and you don't have them. Well........

If you're interested in some ITR cams with matching springs and retainers, PM me, I have a set I need to get rid of.

I'm sorry, I got off topic with bringing up the valve springs. I was basically implying that you should have upgraded your valve springs when you went turbo. And that you should get your priorities straight and if your strapped for cash, spend the $360 on some Toda springs to protect your engine instead of cams to stress your block even more.
GSR block, JE pistons Eagle rods. There is a least 3500-4500$ in your block? A bad shift and your done. $360 sounds like cheap insurance to me since your not wanting to spend a ton of money.
