What manual Trans will bolt to the 3.5L V6
Can anyone provide the manual transmission model that bolts up to the 3.5L V6? Are they more reliable than the auto's? Thought, opinions?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Do you mind telling us a little more about what it is that you are doing?
In theory, any late model Accord or TL six speed will bolt up.
But if you're doing something like putting an RL motor in your Accord, you will want to get the newest, latest transmission that you can find. The six speeds that we put in our big Hondas are not as strong as you might imagine, which is what has delayed the introduction of the new TL SH-AWD 6-6...there just wasn't a transmission that would stand up to the power.

The short answer is "research". The V6 auto's are clearly known for their lack of ability to last more than 100K miles (often times less) so I'm researching what will be my alternative when mine goes. Typically a Honda manual transmission is not going to require as much maintenance as it's counterpart and is less expensive to replace. But that's not always the case hence this thread.
Oh and this is not for my Accord.

Nope... not on a late gen that I know of. But all indications are that most any j series MANUAL tranny will bolt up... the autos would be different based on software. I think I might be one of the first as I am actively looking to add a TL type S tranny to my accord 6-6. Either that or add a Type s LSD to my existing 6 speed.
To be honest... to me... there is no "clearly" that a 3.5 auto will have a high failure rate
