Re: HONDA RIDGLINE FWD 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANS.
- No such a thing as a J23A3; I think you're referring to a J32A3 (which was available with a 6MT in the TL from 2004-2006).
- There is a significant difference between the 6MT in a TL and the one in the 7th Gen Accord; that difference being a mechanical Limited Slip Differential available only in the TL.
- The above said, I do not believe the bellhousing from a 2004-2006 TL will bolt up to the J35A9, for that you'll need the 6MT from the 2007-2008 TL Type-S with the J35A8 engine.
- All of the above said, if you engage in this swap, you will most likely lose the AWD capabilities of the Ridgeline; effectively rendering the vehicle FWD only.
- And if all of what I've written isn't enough to dissuade you, swapping the transmission will be the easy part; figuring out what half shafts to use, how to add the additional motor mount, how to add the clutch and shifter linkage, and then how to reprogram the ECU to work without feedback from the automatic will be very-VERY time consuming elements of the conversion and VERY expensive.
Long story short, if you are going to attempt this swap, budget an easy $10,000 for the job.
