i know a few of you guys boosted your autos, how is the car doing ? any aftermarket tranny parts added? thanks just need some info

i think one of the first things you should get would be a tranny cooler

 

mines doing great, i have a hayden auxilary cooler. I bypassed by stock radiator one.

 

my tranny is holding strong. Jumped from 5psi to 8psi and she keeps on going. But I know I need to start the building process or she'll be dead soon.

 

You've been boosted for 2 weeks!!!! I hope she would hold for at least that long :D

Anyway I still have not added a god damn aftermarket part to the tranny and its been holding the 6.8 or .45 bar of boost for about 4 months no without a problem at all. She's taking it like a trooper... although I will have 440cc injectors soon and be able to run 8-9psi with tuning (also planned for the near future) and like autoEX I will need to start building or swapping cause I don't think she will like 1-3 more psi

 

exactly shadow, i can feel it if i try to leave if floored and not let up, the tranny wants to change gears, but the motor says F U and wants to keep pushing. I want to keep the auto, but i think i'll leave the tranny stock and just keep saving till she blows and the swap to a 5spd. I didn't want to because i really enjoy the automatic, but i think even with it built when i go high boost, she'll just die on me. And i'm not about to buy an almost pure race tranny.

 

Question for you guys.
What does the BOV sound like? Does is still blow off as hard as a stickshift car? I would think it isnt as loud if it does.

 

well then your gonna be very upset. My greddy type s has been known to make the neighbors dog put it tail between its legs and waddle home. No, but on a serious note i have been told that it is very nice and people are shocked it's on an automatic. I can do the same trick with letting of the gas slowly and it will give a nice long pshhh sound. So yes, it sounds real good, mine is even louder than this 12psi ls that rolls around.

I have a vortech and it sucks, always sounds like a bird flutter ALWAYS.... and it doesn't go off during shifting, only when I let off it while in boost.

autoEX please give me more details about the greddy and auto, cause I wanna get a type s when I turn up the boost.

 

The type S is just loud as hell. I'm not sure if the louder it is, the better it is, but damn it's fun to hear. Well for one, do you let of the gas to help you car change gears or do you just hold the gas down. For me, the tranny doesn't want to change, so i let go very quickly and get back on it and she gives a nice high pitched scream. IF i'm in peak boost right before my car wants to change gears and i let off, she'll just blow off with a nice long psssshhhhhh!!. I know if I keep on the gas between shifts she won't make any noise and i'm thinking it's cause it won't blow off so that another reason why i let of the gas. But i play around with the gas alot to make her blow. Last night for instance me and my wife were coming home on the highway and 4 kids in mommy and daddy's bmw were grillin me hard as **** and i tapped and released the gas a couple times and she just kept blowing off like 4 times, it sounded so sweat and they just turned their heads. But if your running it, let off slightly between the change in gears she'll blow off for a second and it's also doing it's job.

 

Boosted for a few weeks so far and loving it!!! Hit 14 PSi the other day while messing with my dual stage boost controller. Damn was that quick but I won't do it again until I get it tuned

 

you have an automatic and boosted it to 14 psi, please tell me you built the tranny or you won't do that again till it's built. Otherwise, that is just sick.

 

Well I didn't really mean to boost it that high but I just put on my new turboxs dual stage boost controller and decided I didn't need any instructions... Typical 18 year old so I started boosting and it just kept going. I'm a very curious person and so I waited until it hit 14 before I let off the throttle. By this time I was going way over the speed limit anyway. Nah, I won't boost that high again until I make a stop at Level 10 or build the hell out of this one. It was really fun though, I couldn't believe how fast the damn thing was at 14 PSI. I don't recommend doing this though because it will blow something up.
