Has anyone gotten a CEL after installing a CTR intake cam?
My brother has a 99 Gsr and a week after installing the CTR intake cam the check engine light came on. After looking up the code we found it to be running too lean. I was wondering if anyone else has had such a problem?
His modifcations are: AEM Cold Air Intake, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, Gude Throttle Body, DC Header, AEM cam sprockets with the Intake set at +2 and Exhaust set at -1, and a Greddy Evo Exhaust. Could all of these mods be the cause of his car running lean or do you guys think there is something else wrong?

Check your cam gears and make sure you have them set up right. Also the CTR cams require a bit more fuel then stock.
Edit: bad O2 will make it run rich...

cam gears are set right. The only thing we have not done yet is add fuel. My brother just bought a FPR and Gauge so we are going to install them this weekend. Hopefully this will fix his problem, what do you think?
If your running a CTR intake cam your need to add more fuel for the bigger lobe cams. Bumping up barely above stock is not gonna make that much of a difference! I'm having the same problem.

NOOB question.
Since you use a CTR with higher lift, thus allowing more air in. Wouldn't you need a exhaust cam with bigger lift too to let the more air out? Or do you just retard the exhaust timing for that?

I'm running '98 spec ITR cams in my Si and I'm getting the Code 45 I turned my FP up to 50 from 40 @ WOT and my freinds car did the same thing. I'm starting to hink that there is no way around it except for unplug your ECU when you get the CEL!
