Default ___ Motor starts, then dies shortly after? ___

Posting this for a friend, he doesnt have a HT account so he asked me to post this.

His exact words:

"Okay, so today I hopped into the car, just like normal.. did not drive it today, nor the day before. Go to start the car, and the car cranks over about 10 times. Turn the key "off" and then prime the fuel, and go to start it again, and the motor starts idling really low/bogging. Let it sit for about 20-30 seconds and the car dies out. Also when the car is on and idling really choppy at -- 500 rpms. Once I give it some throttle, the car dies out? What could it possibly be? I daily this car and there havent been any issues til now.. Any advice/help is appreciated!"

The motor is a B18c. Definitely sounds like a fuel issue but don't know what exactly. All help is appreciated. Thanks

If it was the IACV wouldn't it slowly progress into a problem instead of starting all at once?

ECT readings are readings that the computer use to calculate the fuel mixture, so I'd start there.

The car started up day before yesterday, and actually got it to idle. Idle was very choppy, and low around 300 rpm's. The valvetrain is getting some sort of weird noise as well.. could it be possible to jump timing at startup...? Possibly bending valve(s)?
