Default y8 trans y7 motor

well here goes i got a 96 dx hatch still has sohc my trans is ****in up the input shaft bearing is ****ed so im buying a trans from a 99 civic ex will it bolt and plug right up or will i have to change anything over any knowledge or help will be appreciated

because ur tranny has longer gears than the ex tranny so when u get the ex tranny u will move through it quicker

clutch is fresh a lil more than 7k on it

I put a JDM D15B transmission (roughly same gearing as Y8) on my Y7. It accelerates quicker, but you will be revving higher in final gear on the highway, which uses more fuel.

yep, thats why i decided to go with a DX tranny for my turbo setup. I didn't want to be spooling on the highway lol.

Could do EX tranny and do a DX 5th gear.

Which is more dominate for fuel comsumption? Throttle position or RPMs?

it definitely accelerates quicker used to be able to do 40mph in 2nd gear at 3500rpms now in 2nd im at like 4000rpm at 40mph and in the rain b4 i almost never spun my wheels no i cant help it lol
