Default tap, rattle noise

ok i have had this noise for about 10k miles and it has gotten worse.....so i was wondering wat u guys think it is. the noise is ALWAYS there when the car is completely cold. it sounds like a rattle, tapping noise. when it warms up it seems to quiet down, and not as loud. like i said this noise was there about 10k miles ago after i did my header install, and valve adjustmnent. BUT i was not sure was it there before i did those two installs. the noise happens at idle but if u rev it slightly around 1200-1500 u can kind of hear it. does not sound like knock or anything...sounds like something is loose.

heres is what i tried. I adjusted the valves again yesterday. I had two of my frineds check my work. it was all good...nothing that loose that it will cause the noise.

i thought maybe it was the distributor going bad. i bought a new one installed it and it was still there. i checked all the brackets behind the intake, exhaust n nothing is loose. since it was after i did the header install i was about to swap it back to stock one and see if it still does it it.

anyone else have problem similar?

Strange.

Are the nuts on the header tight?

With a person listening to the engine (w/teh hood up) they can't pin point the rattle?

use a stethescope or a long screw driver and put it on diff areas that you think its coming from and put your ear on the end of the handle and see if you hear anything

yea i tried that. i'm gonna get a new distributor anyways becaue the dizzy was making noise. i used a sethscope and i hear it from the middle of the valve cover the most...kinda near the PCV valve. but i can't exactly if its the head, or is the noise coming from somewhere traveling up. i'm gonna recheck the header, and exhaust. but this has been there for 10k miles but has gotten worse recently hence i thought it was the valves. but it wasn't so im here hunting the noise again.
