GSR calipers swapped into 00 Si Direct Fit??
whuttup fellow honda-techers! got a quick question, not sure if it is a noobie question or not.
i was looking to swap out my front and rear calipers on my EM1 (99-00 Civic Si) for some GSR calipers. i wanted to know can I swap out the calipers without having to change anything else or would i need to swap out rotors and other parts?
please let me know!
thanks!

Just an FYI, GSR calipers are no different than the RS calipers. exact same part number. so i hope you're not paying more just because they're off a GSR
hmmm didn't know that. thanks for the info. do the RS have that bronze finish to them also?
but going back to my OG question, are they a direct replacement or am i having to swap out more parts?

i'm not 100% sure on this but i believe your rotors are the same size as integra rotors (excluding ITR of course) measuring in at 10.3". If that is the case, the integra caliper should bolt up to your existing Si knuckle without a problem. however, you may need new pads cuz the part numbers for the Si pads are different than the integra pads.
ps - i was a parts advisor at Acura not long ago so i've researched the part numbers for reference
cuz my buddy has a 99 gsr and said that the USDM are a little bigger since the USDM has ABS.
most used GSR calipers, whether front or rear, that are sold are pretty much rusted. do you think it is worth getting those and try to remove the rust. not sure if i wanna take a chance on those

I wouldn't be too concerned about the rust if it was on the outside body of the caliper. however, if the rust is bad, it may have gone inside to the piston and seized it up therefore making the caliper pretty much a rusty paperweight. see if you can push the piston in first before deciding.
you can always clean them up afterwards if they're good.
99-00 civic si brake pad HONDA part number is 45022-S01-A02
98-00 GSR Honda part number is OEM # 45022-ST7-405
does this mean the calipers are different as well and are not a direct swap?
