Well im about to order a set of 11lb racing wheels that already have falken azenis on them.

my question is has anyone ever drag raced on the azenis? how did they do? i know they are AWESOME for autox but im wondering if im going to destroy them if i drag with them.

on the street, they hook good. at the track, consistent 2.2's all day long. ive heard of other people getting 2.0-2.2's with these tires

only my second time ever at the track and i pulled a 2.29 / 14.8. ive been satisfied and never went back. best i could tell ya. sorry =\ i bought em for autox

 

I like them. I can pull 2.0-2.1 with them everytime.

I here these hook pretty good, but I think that the BFG G-force drag radials are much better for drag. However, they are more expensive.

 

yea but the bfg's probably blow for autocrosing.
and im getting these for about 50$ a tire.
already mounted on new rims.

Rev it up to 7500 and just let it go. I get very little spin, and then it goes.

 

Hit a 2.006 60' with them on 13 psi tire pressure. 205/50/15. Going to track today and hopefully I will hit 1.9's.

We can't get GForces in Australia but I can get Azeni's. Are these the next best thing???

I'm getting 2.2's with Olympic Javelins 185/60 x 14's but with my weight (well the cars anyway) I'm hoping to get another .2 out of some dedicated tyres (sorry tires, you guys spell funny hehehe)

 

anyone know the available profiles in these tires?

Basically any good auto-x tire will have:

sticky rubber - good for drag racing also

stiff sidewalls - good for turning, bad for drag racing

so you will be compromising, but if you can only have one set of tires it wont be bad.

 

UPDATE:

I ran a 2.002 60 last night on my Azenis. 17 psi in them.

 

Other than lowering the pressure in your tire, how do you launch so well? I need to know!

how do the azenis look for those who have them?
do they handle in rain?

or are u shitting bricks when ur on em?

 

7500 rpms? is that even ok for the tranny? or does it depend on how you launch?

 

I'm sure the tranny doesn't like it...but every now and the won't kill it.

 

I guess its ok if i only do it at the track. I dont get major wheel hop and it seems to just grip. And im not really making enough power to blow up my diff.

 

I heard they get really loud at highway speeds. Other than that, everyone says their great. I'll be getting a pair for my car soon.
