Removing cat/test pipe question
I was considering removing the cat converter on my 91 CRX b16, it currenly has a Greddy cat back and I was hoping to get a few extra hp. Here are the questions, how much louder could I expect it to be? Does the Civic and CRX use the same cat or test pipe length? What would be a good "test pipe" to go with?
Thanks in advance

just leave it. unless its clogged of course, in which case replace it with a stock cat. it will be louder and raspier, and dyno tests have proven you'll gain literally about 1hp by having no cat. course that was on a dohc-vtec b-series engine, so you can imagine the effect would be less on a d.
I agree with the other ones. An unclogged high flow cat helps eliminate rasp, quiets it down some, and keeps the smog guys happy. I dont have smog where I live, but it is still nice to have it there for the visual exhaust condition inspection.
