Default 1997 Accord LX 5-Speed

What would be the best engine for my accord?

At the moment I have the stock H22B2 in it, but I haven't quite decided if I want to put my money into this car, or just upgrade to something a bit quicker.

Any suggestions?

You have an F22B2, not H22B2 (doesn't exist)

Please read the Accord FAQ and search for the twenty thousand threads like this.

it all depends on what u want to do with ur car. if u want a track car go with the h22 but if u want a daily driver just run some I/H/E on ur f22

That's what I haven't decided yet... I want it to be quick if I'm going to put a bunch of money into it. But I think the tranny may be starting to go out (ex: Grinding when I shift with the clutch to the floor). But I bought the car for 2 grand, can't expect much. Already had to replace the CV axle joints (-$400+installation).

Try bleeding your clutch actvation system, you may be loosing some travel; thus the grind. If that doesn't help; you'll most likely be in the market for a clutch kit soon.

If your intention is to get out on the highway and terrorize Nissans and BMW's, a turbo on an F22b2 will work out just fine.
If you're more the "All motor all the time" type, and prone to picking street fights; the H22 (with it's higher compression) is the better choice (IMHO)

How would I go about doing that? Haha. I was also thinking about maybe getting a Vtec head but I don't really know all that much about this kind of stuff yet. "WILLING TO LEARN!"

There's a wealth of information in the FAQ thread (section) on the top of the first page of this forum. I'd suggest you pick a topic which tickles your fancy and start reading up.
I suggest this because I've seen untold hundreds of guys like yourself eager to jump right in and do the thing; end up spending unGODly amounts of money several times over before they're satisfied. I've always been a proponent of researching BEFORE you put your hard earned $$ down.
I'd also suggest looking thru the Photo Gallery section where you can get all manner of ideas on what you envision your ride will look like.
How dirty (involved) in this new career do you expect to get?

That's what I'm trying to decide at the moment... I really like the body style of the Accord I have right now, but if I start modding it, it will be perfected. But I don't know if I want to put my money into this car or a "new" one whenever I get that.
