Default Turbo LS CRX overheating...

alrite guys...just got my car dyno tuned at 250hp/218tq at Parris Engine Dynamics in Stockton...before the tune, my car would drive fine..just not as strong as it is now...thing is it overheats now..it didnt overheat at the dyno shop but when i drove home, i decided to give my car a try and it started to overheat when i got into full boost(9psi)..pulled over and let it cooled down and drove home...next morning, i was just driving normally and got to around 2-5psi tryin to pass a car and next thing its overheating...its been like that since..just driving normally for awhile and coming to a stop would eventually lead to my car overheating...could it be my head gasket????my 1/2 size alluminum single core radiator???
my stock fan????my thermostat(jackson racing 160 degree)..any input would be appreciated..thanks...

first i would start with the thermostat. i would also put a high volume slim fan on the rad and have it wired to run while the car is running, i.e. a simple 30amp automotive relay. also what type of head gasket are you running? a oem replacement would be the only one i would use on a boosted engine. cosmetic are prown to fail under normal driving conditions for no reason.

yeah in a felpro head gasket with boost, i would not run it honestly, ive seen to many motors with hundreds of dollars into them fail. i dont even run these on a stock motor. im not sure how much an oem mls cost for a ls, but i do know for a d series it is rather cheap. also, are you running any head studs at all, or are you using the stock head bolts? that will also be a determining factor. because with boost on factory head bolts, the head is known to lift under high load capacities.

Its probably your head gasket. It is probably weak and failing but normal driving doesn't cause it to fail its the boost. When under that high of cylinder pressure gasses are just blowing through to the cooling system.

Replace it with an OEM gasket. Go to Acura and get one. A more efficient fan is probably a good idea too.

if you have a crapy setup den dont go over 8psi...like everybody say ur studs will start to loose and ur head gasket will start to melt. if you see any white smoke from ur exaust for a long time even tho you warm up ur car, then its time to replace the studs and the head gasket.

it use to lean a lil bit but i just got it fixed like 2 days ago..now it stands straight..though the radiator is a lil bent from the downpipe leaning on it when the radiator was still leaned over..they are not touching if ur wonderin..its just from my engine rocking back and forth that caused the downpipe to hit the radiator..ill try posting pics later..
