Default How to check CEL code on '00 Civic

Ok.

I Read the FAQ. But the link is dead!

I already have the codes its just which one to short.

The Accord I have has a blue plug with 2 wires coming out thats what I short but I could not find this in my Sister in Law 2000 civic.

You need an OBDII reader for 96 and up cars. You just plug the reader into the plug under the dash of the car on the driver side. Should be a little rectangle thing sticking out.

the connector should be on the lower right kick panel near you passenger seat. right below your glove box where the ecu is stored if you cant get a reader

Autozone and other parts store will read the codes for free too btw.

I picked up a scan tool from Autozone for about $35 a few months ago. It was on sale.

Are you sure it was really deleted?

Search on here sucks. I just use Google now. I can't find any of my threads through this site anymore.

Pretty sure its gone, yeah. The threads I have for most other things are valid, but this one is not. Plus, it was still sticked until recently - builthatch even edited the stickies just last week, locking it and clearing out unnecessary postings. Then all of a sudden, its removed from stickies and becomes an invalid thread id. Someone deleted it...

And yes, searching now is probably the single biggest waste of time EVER on a forum.
Im so tired of dealing with all the crap that this forum goes through on a daily basis, with people who cant follow simple rules, members who post things without having any knowledge, topics that people know should go somewhere else but put here anyway, AND now theres all this wonderful new VBulletin that adds a whole metric-butt-ton of new issues. Im really tempted to just stop coming here, follow my helms (since, as stated, the search feature is absolutely horrible) and do my own thing.

I just got internet access back a couple hours ago (haven't had it for a week and a half or so), but I have to say I'm tempted to also not deal with it anymore.

It'd be a lot better if I could find another high traffic site. At least I could find something to post in response to. Looks like this site has really slowed down.

Exactly the problem - Honda-Tech was the only really high traffic site that was of any real value.....and now its worthless. And I dont want to see anyone say "its just as good" because thats simply not the case.
Tons of useful members have left, I know.
But, whatever, I'll probably just end up staying, complaining the entire time...until it drives me completely insane

PS)
I loathe the stupid *** comments at the top of the forum, too.
"Dear Honda-Tech "readers", Happy Holidays! from your friends at Internet Brands"
First of all, Im not a "reader" of this place. People dont "read" honda-tech, they come for help, look at pictures, buy crap, etc. Not read - books are for reading.
Secondly, why is there an ! at the end of Happy Holidays instead of just at the end of the sentence? For that matter, why is the point a heart? What are we? Prepubescent girls?
Third, friends at IB? Laughable...
Christ, Im on a hate-roll. I want the old FUNCTIONAL H-T and I want my damn cel thread. Give me THAT for Christmas..er.."holiday"

It was quarantined or something. No one really knows (or will fess up) to what happened to it. I had builthatch look into it and apparently not all mods/admins could access it but some could.

Not going to happen. You could get 95% of the "readers" of this site to say they want it back the old way, and IB won't change it. They own vBulletin. They believe that it's the best for the site. It is used on more forums, so in theory it will help bring new members tothe site. And that's exactly what they want.

As far as the thread being back... It's a Christmas miracle. pdiggity, if you leave, tell me where you go, please. You're one of the people on here who I could learn from (not just because you know things, but because you put things in a way that I can learn them too).
