for the guys with jdm ef rhd crx, i'm trying to find out what axle to use on the right side (our driver's side). I've tried 90-2001 teg axle but it doesn't seem to work. It always has vibration when turning left.

visibly it is the same as the axle that came in my car, it measures the same, but doesn't work very well. The first one i brought back to the store and exchanged thinking it was a bad axle, but i'm on the third one now so i'm thinking there's gotta be something different about the rhd crx sir axle on the right side.

I've got a ys1 non-lsd tranny. On the left side i used a 90-93 teg half shaft and axle and it works fine.

 

i got the same car with the same problem... only sir ef axles will work either ef9 or ef8 sir axle will work for that side.. unless you change the tie rod end....

 

Well keep this thread updated.. I need to replace my drivers side axle soon, just started clicking before I put it in storage last year.


From the sounds of the problems you guys are having is the LS CV-shaft is a TINY big longer.

Maybe pulling apart the NEW cv and switching the bar in them might be the KEY..
or just replace the outside assembly and trying that.

Just a thought.

Hey Scott, you'll more than likely you have to use an 90-93 Integra shaft and inner joint, and a 88-89 Integra outter joint.

 

i've seen some articles that mention removing a spacer from the back side of the hub. I've never done that before, i don't even know if i have that spacer on the back side of my hub. If so, i wonder if it would be enough to make room the longer 90-93 shaft?

 

none of that will work, if you just hear a clicking noise why don't you just replace the cv boot like i have 3 million times, crx's notorious with broken cv boots, if not and the joint is bad (the bearings are bad) if you grab a ls axle out of a 91-93 DA and switch the end what ever one is bad with the end of the DA and your good to go.. only difference in the da axle is the length of the shaft

i'm starting to think raxles might be the best route to go.

*removed info about 92 gsr axle as the gsr b17 axle is the same as the ls b18 axles.

and for brad@password, there's no tear in my cv boot.

 

There isn't a tear in the boot its fine, its just the original axle, and its worn out.

So your saying, just use a LS end on the axle that is from my car???

 

That's what i'm understanding as well, sounds like just teh shaft is longer on the 90-93 teg axle vs the rhd sir axle.
