Icon3 lsvtec rpms goin crazy

i have a 94 lsvtec turbo and i was drivin from fla to nc and my tach started goin crazy but only after i had discovered a huge crack in my turbo manifold any help is welcome im on a low budget and this is my dd the manifold is being fixed but wat would cause the needle and car to go crazy it wont run right at all

check the knock sensor & wire for the sensor. Thats wat made my b16a do that. also check the dizy.

i was thinkin it might be the cap i had a problem with wires staying on i think im gonna pick up a new cap and rotor

probably the icm. Thats what caused my tach to go crazy and start randomly breaking up.

the icm or ignition control module is located inside the distributor.

You can just replace the icm it is available separately since your on the cheap. A dizzy can be quite expensive if you go factory.

Nope you dont even have to do that. It is like two bolts and 4 wires to unplug. Here is a lil guide to testing a no spark condition but it shows you in detail what you need to know.

awesome thanks alot man so heres the thing i belive i have spark because it runs but dies but the tach needle and engine go nuts so im kinda lost

what kind of ecu are u running, also who wired up te car it could be a wiring issue,if u tried everything else swap out the harness my old da was doing same **** but not the tach. i swapped it out and it was all gravy

Yeah Im sure you still have spark... So did I. It just didn't run good at all and would misfire at different rpms. I ended up putting a whole new dizzy on and it fixed my problems. That article was just for reference pictures. Do you possibly have any codes in the ecu?
