Hey guys Im new to this site so if there is a post around that has the answer to my question please provide a link.

Anyways, I want to do a b18b1 swap into my 97 cx civic and I have a couple questions.

I know ( or atleast i think ) my car is obd2, and im gonna keep it obd2, does that means I have to get the b18 thats obd2 aswell? Now with the civic cx, the cat is on the header. When i put the b18b im gonna put the header, downpipe, and then a cat.

Am I going to have problems with the 02 sensors?
How many 02 sensors does my car have?
How many does the b18b ecu need?

If anyone knows about a thread that shows specifilcy how to do a b18b swap into a ek hatch let me know. thanks

 

B18B can be OBD1 and OBD2 as well, depending on year. if you want to keep your car OBD2 you must get same engine. I'm not sure how many O2 sensors has B18 but your car has 2, one on header and second after the cat.
anyways this swap is quite straight, is your car auto? if no you shouldn't have any problems with it. take a look, any of B series swap will be the same for B18B:
