b18b (obd2) in a '94 cx: Question about sensors
I put a '96 b18b (obd2) in my '94 cx about two weeks ago. I'm running a P75 ECU out of a '95 ls. My first question is about the O2 sensor. I only plugged in the four wire sensor at the end of the header. Since I'm running it as an OBD1 I'm assuming I don't need to worry about the sensors that are supposed to be in the cat. Am I right about this?
I was also curious about what the sensor on top of the intake manifold is for? The doesn't seem to be a line for it. It has vacume, so I plugged it for now. Unplugged the idle goes up about 1,000rpm, but plugged it's stays right where it should be.
Last question: Is there any particular wiring that should have been done. I don't want to be pessimistic, but it just seemed too easy for an OBD2 engine into an OBD1 chassis. The shock tower plugs were all the same and I just replaced the ECU with the '95 P75. The car is running great and seems to have the power that's expected with this swap. I'm just asking to double check my work and so I'm not driving around too lean or something. I hope someone has some insite for me. Thanks.
Also: Should I have any worries about my stock fuel system?

if it's running great and you're not getting any MIL, then i would say that you did what you had to do.
it's probably the evap purge solenoid on top of the manifold...there's a hose that goes to a small black can...im not sure, a pic would be nice.

Re: b18b (g_man80)
which engine harness did you use? im doing basically the same swap. b20z obd2 into 92 vx. im getting an obd1 ls im. is that going to be a problem with the obd2 harness?

Re: b18b (blufke)
I'm not too sure about the b20z, but my obd2 b18b had the same plugs as my obd1 cx so all the plugs from the engine to the shock towers were the same. You'll notice a few extra wires in the plugs from the engine, but they are just extra sensors that aren't needed for the obd1. Don't worry about them. The obd1 ecu will plug right into your existing harness below the glove box. I hope this helps.
