lil play in gas pedal?
The design of the pedal assembly allows for a little play in the linkage, and as it wears that will only increase. Poke your head under the dash and look at the pedal ***'y as you wiggle it with your hand. You should be able to see where the play is coming from.
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to fix it unless you want to remove/disassemble the pedal assembly, do some welding/fabricating to allow you to install a bushing to take up the play. Probably not worth the effort I'd say.

What you want to do is adjust the throttle cable at full throttle, the cable is just barely snug. If you get rid of the play in the pedal and the butterfly opens sooner than the pedal bottums out on the floor, you will stretch the cable in the long run..
