Default 90 integra 200+ hp on reg gas?

Just looking what would be the best rout to get my integra to over the 200 hp mark, but not wrecking fuel efficiency and keeping it as reliable as possible. Turbos, high compression and superchargers are out, cause usually you have to have 91 octane gas.

What engine.
Turbo will be the easyest. just aim for 210HP then you will be able to run sh*t fuel.
Other wise youll be looking at a swap.

I am pretty sure that for any motor on hmotorsonline that makes 200+ horsepower, premium gasoline is recommended.

well that sucks, I guess I should just aim for the 180 mark and be happy if I can make it to that.

Why not just run 91? You can make good power on it. I made 315whp/216wtq on 91octane on my stock block GSR with a simple turbo setup.

if you thin about it 91 octane isnt that expensive. Plus gas prices have dropped significantly in the last month.

11 gall tank b18c1 = approx 25 dlls worth of gas

I get better gas mileage on 95 compared to 91.
So it works out about the same price.

On 91 I have to use stock timing, but with 95 I can turn the timing right up which gives me more power and means I dont have to use the accelerator as much.

if you only want to run 87 octane, dont even bother trying to get to 180whp, or even 180hp. even gsr, lsvtec, b20vtec stock motors are recommended to use 91 octane. its only 20cents...if you're going to spend $1,000+ on making your car fast, doing ruin it by using shitty gas

You want 200hp without using forced induction or high compression? Impossible. I like how you're worried more about the extra $2 a tank than the thousands of dollars you would have to spend to get to the 200hp mark regardless of which method you use.

for comparison sake...

lets say its $2.60 for 91 octane... generally regular (87) is a $0.30-$0.50 difference.

so lets put $2.20 for 87 octane.

fill up 12 gallons of gas:

91 octane: $31.20
87 octane: $26.40

for a whopping savings of $5.... that cant even get you a meal at wendys.

If turbos, superchargers, and high compression are out then how do you expect to gain any reasonable power? What are your ideas to reach 200+ HP without doing any of those?

You really can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want power, you'll have to run the proper fuel to support it. There are no two ways about it....

ok ok I get the point. Anything over 20+ hp I will expect to buy premium I get it. So what is the best way to boost the stock motor, or is it just a lost cause and I should do a swap. Hey maybe I could drill holes in the pistons to get lower compression (just kidding)

like someone posted above, b18c from h-motors will get you just under 200 hp to the crank and you will have factory reliability and decent fuel economy

Ouch that motor is 3 grand total after install, I guess you gotta pay to play. I don't think I am gonna spend that on just the motor, the car needs other upgrades, such as better suspension and exhaust. Thanks for the tips I'll start a thread when I get some money and start the build.

do some research on ls/vtec if you want to gain the power of having a gsr motor without having the buy the gsr motor. exactly what year integra do you own? cause if you go w/ a b16 head on your ls block, golden eagle lsvtec kit, gsr or b16 tranny, you'll have alot of fun w/ your set up.

sounds good. The motor in it seems ok its a 1990 and just needs some waking up. Buying a b16 head would probibly be a better option, then the swap will go a little faster and cheaper. That way I can spend some money on suspension.

215,000 k's. What car is the b16 cable tranny out of. I guess the stock integra tranny is weak in general.
