My daily driver: im looking for a eg, ef for a daily driver, planning on puting b16...

Will itr cams run well with b16 intake manifold? and do usdm itr pistons fit in a b16????? is the bore right and hows that work??

Simpleily stated questions:
1. Will itr cams run well in a b16 with itr valvetrain?? and will the cams work with b16 intake manifold?
2. Will ITR pistons fit a b16?

thanx guys,

Being that the b18c5 is based on the b16 head, im pretty sure youll be fine with the cams and such. as for the pistons, no idea.

Looks like the ITR pistons will fit in a B16A2, in that both are 81 mm bores, and people also put the CTR pistons in an ITR.

The difference in the displacement is due to the lesser stroke of the 1.6 L. Ed

Okay, here is what you need to know.

Yes, you can put ITR pistons in the B16. But, I wouldn't waste the money on it.
Because of the shorter stroke, the ITR pistons will actually lower your compression.

CTR is the only Honda piston that will raise your compression (aside from the JDM version of the b16 piston).

Stock a USDM B16 comes with 10.2:1 compression
Stock a JDM 2nd Gen B16 comew with 10.4:1 and the 1st gen is the same as the USDM motor.

Yes...don't put ITR pistons on the B16, you will lower the compression by quite a bit.

Think of it this way...

CTR pistons in B16B gives 11.5:1 compression (or there abouts)
CTR pistons in B18C gives 12.1:1 compression (or there abouts)

Someone needs to fix my compression numbers, I don't know them off the top of my head.

Stock CTR (B16B) has about 10.8:1 CR, so CTR pistons in a B16A should be 10.8:1 as well.

A couple of my friends run ITR cams in their B17As with no problems. One of them has the stock IM (same as B16A) and the other has the ITR IM. The gains with the ITR IM are noticable, but only at the top of the rev range. As far as I know, both have stock valvetrains, but I believe they are also both using the stock 8000 rpm rev limit.

i was just gonna save money, by not buying pistoins or anytihng of that sort.. just use parts off the R
