I got a 98 prelude that burns oil excessively which forces me to top it off a lil every 2 weeks...i fear that i might have added too much, because my dipstick doesnt give me a clear reading...the whole thing from the first hole till the second hole and further up the dipstick is covered with oil. after driving it for a month without money and with barely any oil till my oil light went off, i got oil change, then a month later i checked the level and it was low so i added 2 quarts...perfect...then recently i added 5 more quarts checking the reading every time, so now on a cold start my muffler spits dirty crap, probably oil, or fuel i dont know, and when i push the accelerator .. from 800rpm to about 2000 the car feels like it rattles almost like in a shitty transmission, but i just got my transmission rebuilt...maybe they ****ed up??
I also observed a leak from somewhere below my intake manifold but cant figure out where and it leaks oil onto my cat and exhaust which burns up and start smoking and smelling

aem v2
high flow cat
ngk wires/plugs
mugen grounding kit
(auto-tragic)

2 things to check below your intake manifold.. the Head Gasket and the oil Filter. They may have not have tightened the oil filter properly.. (simple hand tighten). just something simple to check out.
as for the tranny and car rattle, try checking the tranny mount.. make sure it didnt rattle lose

Losing some oil is very normal in h22's. I add about 1qt every 1-2 weeks. Did you add 5qts all at once?? Make sure you are checking your oil level when the engine is cold to get an accurate reading. I kind of doubt it, but you could have so much oil it is backing up into the cylinders and so you are burning a lot of it off. I would suggest draining and refilling with the proper amount of oil to be sure and see if you can identify the leak; I believe the oil pressure sensor has been known to leak as well and is right next to the filter.

There is also the Valve cover gasket, it could be leaking and running down around the
intake manifold. There is also an oil-cooler o-ring and an op switch where it could
be leaking as well.
Do a compression test on it as well, then you can add a cap full of oil and if it bumps
the compression up a considerable amount your rings are going bad

i already had the oil cooler o-ring replaced recently, and the op switch isnt leaking, after double checking it might just be the valve cover gasket thats letting out oil, doesnt seem to be like a minor issue, might be a "serious problem" with the piston rings going bad because my vtec isnt working properly....my 5000-7400 rpm climb is 3 times as slow as a month ago

how much oil is currently in the engine (check when the engine is cold)? vtec not engaging can be caused by a lack of oil pressure; does it sound and feel like vtec engages at all?
roflmfao, you're checking your oil wrong fool. the oil is still recirculating into the oil pan when its still cooling down. takes 30 minutes or so to get to the oil pan. my guess is that you added 5qt on top of a healthy amount since you didn't mention the oil light the 2nd time. go get another oil change done noob
if you are ever unsure about what you are doing with your car, (especially the motor) consult someone first. all it's going to do is reassure you you are doing a procedure correct, or you will find out you were wrong and learn the right way. you are a little late to start asking questions now, but just follow what has been said above.
