Default B18b1 Help...

ok new to the site and honda stuff... anyway ticking sound coming from engine... still working fine... drove for a lil... rpms bouncing and feels like it wants to stall... was told it was the head... is it?

"Ticking" is usually the valves, while "knocking" is the bottom end.

There are many reasons an engine can develop a fluctuating rpm reading. But I am not convinced its related to the ticking noise...not yet anyways. Are you seeing a check engine light?

no not yet... it didnt start doin it till the tickin noise came up... anyway how would i fix the tickin?

Hmm... you'd have open the engine and check on your valvetrain.

A valve adjustment may help.

oh alright... yea ill probably check it tomorrow... some ppl were tellin me i need a new head or something... so idk

Sometimes old injectors will make a ticking noise also. It is a sign of wear on the injectors. Also check the tension on the timing belt.
