Default rbc manifold in ep3

i was thinking about getting an rbc manifold for my ep3, would it fit? would the gains be worth it? what would i need to put it in?

I've never seen a dyno, but an educated guess would tell me that the Ep3 motor doesn't rev high enough to take advantage of the extra flow.

Plus, you're going to have to have K-pro to get any extra HP/torque out of the manifold. Just bolting it on will result in a loss of power--just like it does on the RSX-S.

You need it tuned. I have heard people experience an overall top end gain but a loss in mid range. That could be total BS though.

It will not physically fit in the EP3 engine bay without slightly trimming the upper rad support.

i have the rbc on my N/A ep3
with stock ecu i gained 4hp und 4nm more then the stock manifold
tuned kpro ecu a loooooooooot torque in the low revs and over 45hp more @ 6000rpm
if you want i can upload my dynos
peak 230hp and 228nm and got 200nm from 3000rpm until the rev limiter

mods
custom moddes stock airbox
200cell cat
stock header
invidia catback
rbc manifold
kpro

with an header like the bc or dc i definetely hit the 240's
but i think its a good result for stock airbox and stock header

Not doubting you but that seems a bit much for such a stock setup..

yeah that sounds a little B/S (no offense) especially with stock header which is extremely restrictive.

What kind of Dyno? And you did say Peak horsepower no WHP so how did you get these numbers?

i were on the SAME dyno before installing the rbc and after
so the numbers can't lie

i even was on another dyno which gave me the same numbers so the result is correct!
even if the dyno has some variation, the difference between 2 mensurations is correct when you are on the same dyno!!

here the dyno with rbc and stock ecu vs tuned map
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/1614/dsc00093ud5.jpg

see the 45 more HP at 6000rpm

and here with tuned map and stock intake manifold vs tuned and rbc

i'm really well versed with the k20, so you can believe me that these numbers are real

wow you reached almost peak power at 3grand and hold steady across the board. Car must really feel different and pull great. I'm so surprised in those results. Your car really loves mods. They say with Honda engines you get two types, Freaks and great engines. You have a freak my friend.

By freaks I mean, shouldn't be as fast as it should. Like my buddy had a stock GSR that kept up with my old GSR when I had Cold air intake, intake manifold, oversized throttle body, race header, full exhaust, MSD ignition system and a full tune. He had just an intake and could keep up and sometimes pull on me. His car is just from the factory faster than it should be. Now with a bolt on turbo kit he's laying 350whp all day long.

WOW! Your tuner did a really good job of smoothening out your powerband. I eat my previous words. haha

Did you have to cut your radiator support bracket to make it fit in the engine bay? Also did you have to have the coolant ports on the RBC cut out? Any other modifications to make it work?

so first of all thanks for the positive comments, i'm very happy with my tuned map, at 4000rpm party really starts and at 6000rpm you get a real 2nd kick in the back, i can't get enough of it

i don't really know what you exactly mean with radiator support bracket?
you have to cut the front-beam a little bit where the hood-lock is mounted , but thats the only thing which needed to be cut, you just need some other cooling-wires and a throttle body adapter..

the rbc i bought was a complete set of all parts you need
when you order the rbc directly from honda (orginal honda part) you have to cut the rbc themself a little bit, because it's too wide for the orginal manifold engine port
