EM1s in other markets had ABS, but the USDM model EM1 (Si coupe) is the only one I've found that did not have ABS.

So unless it's either a Canadian SiR (EM1 - B16A2) or a Canadian Si (EJ8 - D16Y8), it didn't have ABS.

Wow, seriously? The US EM1 has no ABS?

If most of the civics in North America are built in Alliston, Ontario anyways, it makes you wonder why these small difference in Canadian and American models exist.

Well, it has nothing to do with the build origin of the vehicle. It has everything to do with the customer base that vehicle is destined to be sold to.

Honda tries to build and sell vehicles according to what they believe their customers want.

This is why we don't get Civic Type Rs. People don't want to pay for it.

Sure, there are probably six million teenagers (and twenty-somethings) in the US who would give their left nut for a CTR, but apparently left nuts just don't old the same resell value they once did.

When you really look at it, very few Civics have ABS in the US. The few that do usually have it as an option. Like optional ABS on EXes. You can buy with or without ABS.

Put an engine with a few more horsepower into an EX coupe, put on some alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, a few cosmetic items, and they sell. Granted they weren't as popular as some of the other trim levels, but they still were a good investment for Honda.

Yep. I mentioned that about the Canadian Si (EJ8) and SiR (EM1).

Canadian cars have DRLs too. I'd really like the whole set up from a '96-'98 model.
